Wanda Reine was a young woman who went missing in 1971. Her husband, serial arsonist and suspected killer, Melvin Reine, claimed to have dropped her off at a bus station before she vanished.
Melvin Reine is thought to be involved in the murder of his babysitter’s boyfriend, and the disappearance of Paul Alwardt. The latter subject was due to testify in court against the suspect.
Reine’s second wife was murdered in 2005; although also being suspected, he was deemed mentally incompetent for a trial, dying in 2013.
