Wade Aughney contacted his family from a homeless shelter he was living at in Yuma on July 13, 2001. He informed them that he was planning a trip to Mexico. He has not been heard from since.
At the time he went missing, Aughney lead a transient lifestyle and was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and he may not be taking the medications prescribed to regulate his condition.
The Pleasant Hill Police Department are investigating this case, as Aughney is originally from Pleasant Hills, California.
