Tracy Jo Shine (December 7, 1962 - April 1987) was a young woman who disappeared in 1987 from Texas. It is believed the motivation for her disappearance was related to serving as an informant to police against her then-boyfriend Michael Neal. Eventually, DNA obtained from fragments of tissue within a refrigerator owned by Neal was identified as belonging to Shine, strongly indicating the appliance was used temporarily to conceal her body. The minimal amount of remains were all that have ever been recovered; Michael Neal pleaded guilty to her murder in 2001. He stated a barrel filled with muriatic acid that was abandoned in a landfill served as her final resting place.
