Tavish Sutton was a baby who vanished in 1993. There are no photographs available of him but he has been age progressed several times by the NCMEC.
Background[]
Tavish's mother was sectioned due to schizophrenia at the time of his disappearance. Tavish was taken into the custody of the Department of Family and Children Services when he was a few weeks old and had been placed with a foster family.
Case[]
Tavish was last seen at the Hughes Spalding pediatric unit at the Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia on March 9, 1993. He was recovering from a minor surgery he'd had over the weekend to treat an abcess. A nurse checked on Tavish, who was staying in a semi private room, at 6:45 a.m. At the time two of his roommate's relatives where there but the were sleeping on the sofa. The nurse returned at 7:00 a.m. only to find Tavish was gone.
The previous night an "agitated" man had attempted to enter the hospital's pediatric wing after 8:30 p.m. Visitors to this area of the hospital where required to carry passes authorising them to be there if they wanted to enter after 8:00 p.m. The man did not have a pass and could not provide a legitimate reason for wanting to be there. However, he left before security could be called. The man, who has never been identified, was described as tall and skinny and was wearing a baseball cap.
Another potential suspect in Tavish's case is a woman who was seen carrying a curly haired baby by witnesses inside and outside the hospital. She was around 25 years old with almond shaped eyes, "strong" cheekbones and a medium-brown complexion. She was approximately 5'5 tall and 160 pounds. She was seen wearing black pants, a black coat and large earrings. Her hair was tied with a bow. Like the man, she remains unidentified.
Tavish's roommates family where investigated and eventually cleared as suspects in his disappearance. Tavish's mother and his other relatives are also not considered suspects in his case, and where not even aware that he was at the hospital at the time of his disappearance.
Police think that Tavish may have been abducted by a woman who was pretending to be pregnant and wanted to have a child. They believe that this women likely lived between four and twenty four miles away from the hospital. However, no evidence has been found to support this theory.
