Tammy Rose Surdam was a girl who vanished in 1979. Foul play is suspected. Her latest age progression depicts her at 58.
Background[]
Tammy began getting into trouble 2 years prior to her disappearance, after her family moved. She spent time with teenagers who used drugs and drank alcohol, and was a chronic runaway. According to her family, Tammy was overly trusting and may have gotten into a car with a stranger.
She was close to her father, but did not get in touch with her family after his death in 1988.
Case[]
Tammy was last seen at a youth shelter in the 500 block of Jefferson Street in St. Charles Missouri on August 1, 1979. She had been staying there for two days prior to her disappearance. Because Tammy was a chronic runaway her family did not report her missing until years after she vanished.
A convicted child rapist, Nathan D. “Danny” Williams, is a suspect in Tammy’s disappearance, as well as the disappearance of another young girl, Gina Brooks, who went missing in 1989. Williams told two witnesses that he had abducted a 12 year old girl from St. Charles in the late 1970’s and proceeded to rape and murder her. He also told both witnesses that he buried her body in a rural area of St. Charles County. Tammy is the only girl whose case matches his description, however, there is no physical evidence linking him to Tammy’s case.
Tammy has never been found and her case remains unsolved.
