Ta'Niyah Monique Leonard was an infant who went missing in 2002. She is suspected to have been killed by one or both of her parents, and she may have been killed in an altercation between them.
Case[]
Ta'niyah was the daughter of Miranda Jones, who was 17. Miranda said she left Ta'Niyah with her boyfriend, Michael Lewis, on October 19. On October 20, Miranda and Michael had a domestic dispute. Miranda said the fight was initiated when she tried to ask him where the baby was. Reportedly, Michael was not the father but wanted to have a fatherly relationship with Ta'Niyah and was scared of losing her if a paternity test showed he wasn't. Miranda believed he hid her with his family members.
Miranda and Michael later had another child, who was removed from custody. Ta'Niyah is presumed deceased.
