Sylvia Ann "Shorty" Lee was a teenager who went missing in 1995. A man named Wilbur Atcherley pleaded guilty to Sylvia's murder.

Case[]

Sylvia was last seen boarding a bus headed for a light rail station after saying goodbye to her boyfriend. She was planning on taking a train to her grandmother’s home in San Jose, California but never arrived.

While in prison serving a 61 year sentence, Wilbur Atcherley confessed to Lee's sexual assault and murder on the fifth anniversary of her disappearance. He led police to a creek, claiming it was where he dumped her body. Searches for her remains proved fruitless; it is possible that currents washed her body to another location.

Although her remains were never found, Atcherley was sentenced to an additional fifteen years in prison for her murder.

Characteristics[]

  • Brown hair, although she may dye it blonde or black.
  • Brown/hazel eyes.
  • "Shorty" tattooed on her left hand.
