Susan Elizabeth Zaharias (née: Gammill) was a woman who abducted her two young children, Lisa Mae Zaharias and Chris Zaharias. She may use the last name Nosal. Her photo is shown age-progressed to 61 years.

Case[]

Susan’s husband, Louis, last saw their children on November 20, 1987, when he left their residence to calm down after having an argument with Susan. Possibly with the help of relatives, Susan abducted the children while Louis was at work.

Susan, Lisa Mae, and Chris may be traveling in a black 1986 Toyota 4-Runner with license plate number 2X85442. Susan and her children reportedly lived with family in Pennsylvania for a short time after their disappearances. In early 1988, there was a sighting of them in Detroit, Michigan. Susan may have taken the children to Pennsylvania or Oklahoma, where she had relatives, or to Northern California or Canada.

In 2016, Susan’s mother, Norma, died. In her obituary, Susan, Lisa Mae, and Chris were all listed as surviving relatives. Authorities believe that Norma, along with other family members, were helping Susan conceal her children. Police have further stated that they had evidence that Susan, Chris, and Lisa Mae are alive and that there were family members in contact with them. Despite this, their current whereabouts are unknown and Louis continues to search for his children.

A felony warrant for Crimes Against Persons was issued for Susan on February 17, 1988. Additionally, there is a warrant out for her arrest for custodial interference.
