Simone Stephanie Ridinger was a teenager who went missing after hitchhiking a ride to Cape Cod.
Case[]
Ridinger disappeared between 12:00 and 4:00 PM after completing a shift at the restaurant where she was employed. It is believed she planned to hitch a ride to Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
An unconfirmed witness' account surfaced in 1986. A man stated that a state trooper pulled him over the day following Ridinger's disappearance and requested for him to transport her to Cape Cod. The witness claimed she used the name "Sissy" and last saw her walking in the direction of a restaurant after she exited his vehicle at the Hyannis Rotary.
The man who allegedly drove Ridinger to Cape Cod has since died. Although police believe she may have been murdered, no evidence was found to indicate the driver was involved with anything sinister.
