Scott Michael Coville was a man who went missing on April 12, 1988 from Alaska. His wife plead guilty to his murder in 2009, but his body has never been found.
Case[]
As a student, he met his future wife Jane in California: he studied biology and Jane studied physiotherapy. In 1987, however, he dropped out and moved to Alaska, where he worked in a factory and later as a fisherman to pursue his passion for marine biology.
Jane followed him in 1987 and on February 7, 1988, the two were married in California but returned to Alaska. When Scott disappeared, he had been married to Jane for 6 months and was living with her in a trailer in a small fishing village in Alaska.
Scott's mother reported her son missing, having been unable to reach him for months. She never saw her daughter-in-law Jane again.
Jane married another man in 2000 and lived a quiet life.
In 2007, the investigation into the disappearance of Scott was reopened and Jane was arrested in the process. There were audio recordings of her and her now-divorced second husband in which Jane confessed to killing Scott and disposing of his body. She then admitted the same to authorities when they questioned her in early 2009.
Investigations of the trailer where Scott and Jane lived found blood stains on both the walls and floor. DNA tests revealed matches to Scott, after which Jane, pleaded guilty to murdering her husband. According to the statement, she shot Scott, dismembered him, and placed his body parts in trash bags to be burned.
