Satoshi Konno was a man who disappeared on March 23, 2008. He is presumed to be deceased.
Disappearance[]
At the time of his disappearance, Satoshi was one of 47 crew members aboard the F/V Alaska Ranger. The ship was heading towards the Aleutian Islands to fish mackerel.
On March 23, 2008, the rudder room was flooding with frigid water, disabling the ship. The sea conditions at the time were treacherous. At approximately 3am, a mayday call was sent out to the Coast Guard.
The ship sank approximately 120 miles west of Dutch Harbor. Forty-two survivors were rescued, and four deceased crew members were recovered.
