Sapphire T. Wiggins was a young woman who vanished from New Jersey in 2014. Authorities believe she is deceased.
Case[]
Sapphire was last heard from on October 15, 2014, when she called her sister from Atlantic City, New Jersey. She then disappeared, leaving her vehicle at her North New York Avenue residence. There was no sign of a struggle in her home.
Sapphire had been dating Kevin Shelton for around six months at the time of her disappearance. She wanted to marry him, but Kevin already had a wife and children—a fact that Sapphire may not have been aware of.
On October 17, Kevin drove his blue 2002 Porsche 911 across the Atlantic City Expressway to Exit 12 in Hamilton Township, then to Bridgeton and into Hopewell Township in Cumberland County. He continued on to Elk Township in Gloucester County before returning to Atlantic City. A later search of the vehicle found blood belonging to Sapphire and Kevin on the interior of the car.
Kevin died by suicide on October 18. He had called his son earlier that day to explain that he was "in trouble" for unknown reasons and thought he would be going to prison for ten to fifteen years. After his death, a suicide note was found asking for God to have mercy on him. The note didn't mention Sapphire anywhere.
Police believe Sapphire met with foul play, possibly by Kevin, and that she is no longer alive. They think that her remains may be hidden somewhere along the routes Kevin drove before his death.
