Rosa Maria Valentin was a teenager who went missing in 1986.
Case[]
Rosa was last seen getting into a car with an acquaintance of hers, Pedro Miranda. He has since been charged in the abduction and murder of two other teenage girls and has been sentenced to life in prison. Although he is also believed to have murdered Rosa, he could not be charged due to a lack of evidence.
Before Miranda was charged with the other murders in 2008, Rosa's boyfriend, Miguel Roman, was convicted of her murder and sentenced to 60 years in prison. Despite the fact that DNA evidence at the crime scene did not belong to Roman, he served over 18 years before his conviction was overturned.
