Phyllis was last seen at the annual World Championship Chili Cook-Off in Terlingua, Texas. About ten to fifteen thousand people were at the event that night. She lived in Odessa, Texas. She had a roommate and they planned to quit their jobs and camp in the area. Phyllis also had an Irish Setter puppy.
She was last seen at the campfire that night at around midnight. She possibly left the area on a Honda 350 motorcycle with a blond haired male in his twenties.
