Paul Joseph Fronczak was a newborn who was abducted from a hospital in Chicago in 1964.
Case[]
Paul was born on April 26, 1964 at the Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Only a day later, he would be abducted by a woman posing as a nurse.
Over a year later, an unidentified toddler was found abandoned in a parking lot in Newark, New Jersey. The boy bore a resemblance to Paul, and the Fronczaks recognized him as their son and raised him as their own.
In 2012, DNA testing was performed and it was confirmed that the boy found in Newark was not biologically related to the Fronczaks. His real name was Jack Rosenthal, and he also found out that he had a twin sister, Jill, who was still missing. The twins were reportedly abused by their parents before Jack was found abandoned, and he believes that his sister was murdered.
After this information was revealed, the FBI reopened Paul Fronczak's case. In 2019, it was reported that a man living in rural Michigan, who had gone by the name Kevin Baty for his entire life, was identified as the missing baby through genetic genealogy. Very little information has been made public, and his abductor remains unknown. Kevin passed away from cancer in 2020, although he was given the chance to reconnect with his biological mother before his death.
