Niki Diane Britten was a teenager who ran away from her Albany, Oregon home on July 16, 1969. Her latest age progression depicts her at 65.
Background[]
Niki lived with her grandparents at the time. Her parents had got a divorce, and so to ensure that her father, who was allegedly abusive, wouldn't get custody of her. When her mother moved to Pennsylvania, Niki began to frequently run away. She was at a juvenile correction facility between 1966 and 1967.
Case[]
Niki ran away from her grandparent's home. She later reached out to some family friends in September of that year to contact her grandparents. She wanted to tell them she was living in New York and was fine. She said she had a job. Niki never called her family again. Her family hasn't changed their phone numbers or the locks in their home, just in case Niki comes home.
Niki's mother found a letter supposedly written by Niki years after she ran away, saying she was living with people in a large old house and that she might come home but wanted to do what she thought was right for her. Her mother said she believed Niki didn't write this and that she thought Niki's grandmother wrote it to make herself feel better about Niki's disappearance. There have been no updates on her Social Security number since her disappearance.
