Mark Lindsey Bachelder was a teenage boy who disappeared with a friend, David Hesterlee, at Bryan Beach, Texas on September 22, 1974.
Case[]
Mark Bachelder and several Houston teenagers were camping at Bryan Beach, near where the Brazos River empties into the Gulf of Mexico. At 6:00 AM, he and David Hesterlee went surfing with their surfboard tied to their ankles. When they have not returned at 11:00 PM, beach patrol was notified and a search-and-rescue operation was conducted. The search lasted for days, but neither of the boys or their surfboards were located. They are presumed lost at sea.

- Bright yellow surfboard with a white top and a bright yellow bottom with the word "Sunshine" written on the deck and an Indian on a horse on the belly. The fin was red with gold trim on the skeg, the fin at the bottom center of the board.
