Loretta "Lora" Ann Frank (Born 1970) was a young woman who disappeared between late 1988 and early 1989. She wasn't reported missing until 1993.
Background[]
Lora is from the Tahlatan First Nation in Lower Post, British Columbia. She was the youngest of five children.
At one point, Lora was living with one of her brothers and his former spouse in Watson Lake, Yukon. A psychiatrist was scheduled to see her every one or six months (sources differ), but little progress was made because each visit was with a different psychiatrist. Lora eventually moved to a group home in Whitehorse and found employment. Lora eventually moved to a group home in Whitehorse and found employment.
Disappearance[]
Lora returned to Watson Lake for Thanksgiving. She didn't like her current living situation and wanted to move back, but everybody was against it due to no support services for her being in the area. She vanished not long after returning to Whitehorse and stopped all contact with her family. Lora did not give any indication that she was planning to leave Yukon.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) claim that Lora wasn't reported missing right away due to the possibility that she might be travelling. However, Lora's former sister-in-law claims that she reported Lora missing to the RCMP right away, but dismissed Lora as a runaway.
Lora's friends believe she may have started dating a man from Haines, Alaska and they might have travelled to the state.
