Lisa Mae Zaharias, who went by her first and middle name together, was an infant allegedly abducted by her mother, Susan Zaharias, along with her 3-year-old brother, Chris Zaharias. Her photo is shown age-progressed to 34 years.
Case[]
Lisa Mae’s father, Louis, last saw her and Chris on November 20, 1987, when he left the house to calm down after an argument with Susan. While he was at work that day, Susan took the children, possibly with the help of family members.
Susan, Lisa Mae, and Chris may be traveling in a black 1986 Toyota 4-Runner with license plate number 2X85442. Susan and her children reportedly stayed with relatives in Pennsylvania after they disappeared. In 1988, there was a sighting of them in Detroit, Michigan. Susan may have taken the children to Oklahoma or Pennsylvania, where she had relatives, or to Canada or Northern California.
In 2016, Susan’s mother, Norma, died. In her obituary, Lisa Mae, Chris, and Susan were all listed as surviving relatives. Authorities believe that Norma, along with other family members, were helping Susan conceal her children. Police further stated that they had evidence that Susan, Chris, and Lisa Mae are alive and that there were family members in contact with them. Despite this, their current whereabouts are unknown and Louis continues to search for his children.
A felony warrant for Crimes Against Persons was issued for Susan on February 17, 1988. Additionally, there is a warrant out for her arrest for custodial interference. Susan was reportedly addicted to cocaine and crystal methamphetamine at the time of their disappearances.
