Larry Wayne Perry was a boy who was last seen near his grandparents' home in Virginia in 1979. He was killed by possible serial killer Michael Carl George

Case[]

On May 22, 1979, Perry left his grandparents house to go out and play at about 8pm. Witnesses reported that he was seen running after a Ford Bronco on a strip of land by the highway that local kids used as a playground. The car was identified as Michael Carl George's, who when questioned said he had talked to Larry briefly that night but didn't know anything about his disappearance. Investigators learned that George never had a girlfriend and surrounded himself with young boys.

Police pursued George as a suspect for years, but it wasn't until 1982 that George gave in and confessed. He told police that he let Perry play with his shotgun and the boy accidentally shot himself, so George panicked and hid his body. His story is extremely unreliable considering what he is known to have done.

George was found guilty in 1982 and only charged with manslaughter and released. After his release, he became much more violent and unhinged. George committed a slew of kidnappings of young boys that involved rape and torture. In 1990, he kidnapped a 15-year-old boy and viciously tortured him before shooting him to death. He was found guilty and told police he'd killed a third boy in Woodbridge, Virginia at some point in the 1980s but that victim has never been matched up to an existing case. George was executed in 1997.
