Katherine May Wilson (born 1958) was a preteen girl who was last seen walking along Harvey Kirkland Road. Her murderer was arrested and sentenced in 2009, but Katherine's remains have yet to be found.

Case[]

Katherine was last seen walking home from a convenience store, where she was getting groceries for her mother. She'd called her mother before 5:00 P.M. that same day. Katherine's sisters were going to meet up with her while she was walking home, but Katherine never showed up.

Barry Vincent Manion, Katherine's distant cousin, was arrested for involvement in her disappearance on January 9, 2009. He resided in Kirkland Lake and was employed at a car dealership when Katherine went missing. Barry also had a history of sexually abusing Katherine. He told authorities that he offered Katherine a ride home, but drove her to a wooded area instead to rape her. Katherine refused to have sex with him and ran off, but Barry caught up and choked her to death so she would stop screaming. He left her body in the woods.

On March 11, 2009, Barry pleaded guilty to second degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole for ten years. He committed suicide by hanging himself and was found dead in his cell two days later.
