Karen Sue Laird was a young woman who was last seen getting into a black Chevrolet Blazer with an unknown man.
Case[]
Karen disappeared from her residence in Tampa, Florida, on the evening of August 5, 1994. She was last seen getting into a car with an unknown male who presented as a long-distance trucker.
She was arrested in May 1994, 3 months before her disappearance, for drunk driving. She went missing 12 days before her scheduled court appearance. Those close to her do not believe she would have run away to avoid prosecution.
At the time of her disappearance, Karen struggled with employment instability and arrests related to her alcoholism. Her clothes and Miami Dolphins memorabilia collection went missing with her. However, she left behind $1000 in a bank account and has not cashed her social security checks or refilled her prescriptions since her disappearance. Her family describes her disappearance as uncharacteristic and believes she might have met with foul play.
