Sun Nyo "Julie" Lee was a woman who disappeared from Bothell, Washington on the night June 25, 1990. Her remains were located on March 27, 1991. She could be the victim of a serial killer.

Case[]

Julie Lee was reported missing by her live-in boyfriend, Tim Conrad, who reported her missing on July 6, 1990. She was last seen leaving her home to go look for a job.

At the time of her disappearance, the Korean immigrant who spoke little English was described as a "quiet, pleasant woman" who every Tuesday picked up free food at a local food bank to help tide her and Tim until he got paid. Her apartment managers stated that "She worked very hard to do her part. She'd go up and down the road and gather herbs and greens for food".

However, when she got drunk, she would get into fierce argument with Tim that, "her angry screams would pierce through the three-story apartment complex". Her fights with Tim usually ended with her hopping on a bus to Seattle, where she would stay for days before coming home. Additionally, Julie had a record of street crimes, including prostitution and theft, although it is unknown if she was actually convicted for anything.

On March 26, 1991, a scalp of an unidentified man, attached to an ear and brown curly hair, was discovered off High Bridge Road in the Snoqualmie River ravine alongside a roadside garbage dump southwest of Monroe, Washington. On March 27, 1991, detectives located Julie's skull 150 feet from the scalp flesh. Her skull appeared to have been decapitated and been at the scene for six months. Her cause of death was a blow to the head. While it's unclear if more of her remains have since been recovered, additional remains of the unidentified man were located across Snohomish County between February and August 1991.

Authorities questioned both Tim and Julie's ex-husband, who immigrated with her from South Korea in the mid-1970s. Tim was noted to have been cooperative. Gary Ridgeway, AKA the Green River Killer, was also questioned about Julie's murder. Ridgeway has denied killing her, and authorities state there is no indication he is responsible for her death.

Authorities have suggested that Julie, alongside the unidentified man and Bulgarian mobster Stoyan Jalamov are the victims of serial killings referred as "The Dismemberment Murders". All three victims were dismembered, and their remains scattered across Snohomish County. There are no known connections made between any of the victims. To date, no one has been arrested or convicted for any of the three murder cases.
