Joseph Hurtado was a one year old who vanished in 1974. Police believe that he was abducted and murdered.
Case[]
Joseph was last seen walking to his grandmothers house in the 800 Block of Elmwood Count in El Paso. Texas on September 9, 1974. At the time of his disappearance, Joseph’s father was indoors and his mother was washing the car in the driveway. Joseph kept traveling between his parents and this resulted in both parents assuming he was with the other. A neighbor reported seeing a blue Ford on the street, which was dead-end, around the time Joseph was last seen. The vehicle vanished around the same times as he did, but it hasn’t been proven that the vehicle was linked to Joseph’s presumed abduction.
Joseph’s parents and all of his neighbors were ruled out as suspects in his case. The Rio Grande, which flows behind his house, was also searched but nothing was found. Authorities have an unnamed suspect in Joseph’s case. They believe that this individual kidnapped and murdered him. However, after presenting the case to a grand jury no indictments were issued.
