Jennifer "Jenny" Nicole Patterson was a child who vanished in 1991.
Case[]
Jenny was last seen leaving her home at the Holly Hills Mobile Home Park in Spring Lake, North Carolina at approximately 1:15 P.M. on June 23, 1991. She was planning to walk to a neighbors house, but she never arrived and has not been seen or heard from since. She was subsequently reported missing at 6:00 P.M. that evening. An extensive search of the area failed to find her.
At the time of her disappearance, Jenny's parents were divorced and engaged in a custody battle over her. Her father, Alan Patterson, was scheduled to take a paternity test as a result. While the two were still living together at the time they separated afterwards.
Alan told police that Jenny was only missing as a result of the custody dispute and was being cared for. However, he later insisted that he had been speaking "hypothetically" and never meant for this to be taken literally. Alan also failed a polygraph test.
Alan maintains his innocence but is considered the prime suspect in his daughter's disappearance. No evidence could be found which indicated Jenny had left her home that day. Authorities believe Jenny is deceased.
