Jasmina Dominic was a woman who disappeared from her hometown of Palovec, Croatia in 2000. Her body was found on February 16, 2019 and her sister was charged for murder.

Case[]

Jasmina Dominic was last seen in 2000, but was not reported missing until August of 2005. When authorities were investigating her case in 2005, her family stated she was living abroad and they were in contact with her. In 2011, her father, who died before she could be found, stated she was going to work on a cruise ship and then live in Paris when she disappeared.

On February 16, 2019, a relative at the family's residence in Palovec discovered her body in freezer after a power outage caused the frozen body to decompose and smell and informed the police. Police recovered her body and arrested her older sister, Smiljana Srnec. An autopsy determined Dominic died from two to five blows in the head with a blunt instrument. The court in the northern town of Varazdin said declared Srnec must remain in detention for a month to prevent escape or witness intimidation/influence. She was convicted and sentenced fifteen years on June 30, 2019. Her motive for killing her sister is unknown.

The case shocked the nation of Croatia, due to the fact Dominic's family lived with her dead body for nearly twenty years.
