Janice Kathryn Pockett (born October 15, 1965) was a child who went missing while riding her bicycle in July 1973. She has never been found. Her disappearance could be related to those of Debbie Spickler and Lisa White.
Case[]
Janice left her home in Tolland, Connecticut on her bicycle to find a butterfly she had left on a rock the other day. Her bicycle was found abandoned about a half an hour later. She had taken an envelope with her to put the butterfly in, but neither the envelope nor the butterfly was ever found. Janice was never seen again.
It is believed she was probably abducted on her way home after finding the butterfly. Investigators believe Nathaniel Bar-Jonah may have been involved in her case, although he would have only been fourteen at the time of Janice's disappearance. Charles Pierce had confessed to murdering Janice and said she was buried in Lawrence, Massachusetts, but the grave was never found.
