Jamie Rochelle Grissim was a teenager who went missing in 1971 after leaving Fort Vancouver High School. Foul play is suspected in her disappearance.
Case[]
Jamie left her home in Vancouver, Washington, on the morning of December 7, 1971. She went to Fort Vancouver High School, about two miles from her house.
Jamie arrived at school and attended her two classes. She told her foster mother she would walk home and arrive at 1:00 or 1:30 PM. However, she did not come home and has not been heard from since.
In May 1972, Jamie's purse, identification, and other items were found in a wooded area beside a road in the Dole Valley area of Clark County, northeast of Vancouver.
Authorities initially believed Jamie was a runaway. She is now thought to be the first victim of a suspected serial rapist and killer, Warren Leslie Forrest. Forrest is convicted of one murder and believed to be responsible for six others.
