Heather Nicole Kullorn was a girl who disappeared while babysitting in 1999. Foul play is suspected in her case and she may have been abducted.

Case[]

Heather vanished while babysitting the two-month-old infant of friends of her family, Dana Madden and Christopher Herbert. Heather spent the evening of July 15, 1999, at their apartment in the 1600 block of Yale Avenue in Richmond Heights, Missouri. Madden was at work and Herbert was not at home.

Police were called at 5:00 a.m. the next morning when Herbert had returned home and realized Heather was missing. The infant she was babysitting was found inside the residence, crying but otherwise unharmed. Investigators found that a white comforter with a floral print was missing. They also discovered significant traces of Heather’s blood on the couch in the home.

A neighbor reported seeing a man carrying a barefoot child wrapped in a blanket around 2:00 a.m. that morning. He said the child appeared to be sleeping. Another neighbor reported that the tow chains from his car were missing.

Herbert claimed to have been out with friends the night Heather vanished. However, he later admitted that he had been manufacturing methamphetamine with a friend. Authorities believe Heather may have witnessed illegal drug activity in the garage of the apartment and was abducted and murdered as a result. They found evidence of a methamphetamine manufacturing lab in the residence. There is a suspect in Heather’s disappearance, but they have not been publicly identified.

Heather’s mother, Christine Kullorn, has stated that she believes Herbert and Madden know more about her daughter’s disappearance than they have disclosed. She had a verbal altercation with Madden nine months after Heather vanished and was arrested. Christine died at the age of 52 in 2017.
