Gloria was last seen in Colorado Springs at 6:30 a.m. She told her cousin that her ex-husband, Michael Berreth, called her to meet her for breakfast. Michael claimed that she never arrived, and he left around 7 a.m. Gloria also failed to attend her job at an Air Force base. Her car was found abandoned at a shopping center weeks later.
Gloria and her ex-husband divorced in 1993. Their relationship was very volatile, and Gloria had a restraining order against him. She complained that in late spring 1994, he had violated it twice. Michael later remarried, and his wife at the time stated that he was sweating profusely the morning Gloria vanished. Foul play is suspected in her disappearance, and Michael Berreth is considered a person of interest. All evidence related to Gloria's case was accidentally thrown away by the police in 2005.
