Georgine Krüger was a girl who went missing from Berlin, Germany on September 25, 2006.
Case[]
Georgine's parents separated when she was 12. She had only been living with her mother and sister in Berlin-Moabit for three months. She had just transferred to a new school, dreaming of a career as a model or actress. Her hobbies included singing and dancing: she thought she was closer to her goal when she was invited by a casting agency to audition for a supporting role in an evening series.
Georgine attended school as usual on the day of her disappearance and was last seen by witnesses getting off the bus, which stopped about 200 meters from her front door. On this short walk between the bus stop and her home, she disappeared without a trace until today.
In April 2016, investigators learn that a convicted sex offender lived in Georgine's immediate neighborhood, whereupon three undercover investigators were put on Ali K.'s trail. Ali was mostly unemployed, married and is the father of three children. He was well known in the street where he lived: especially as he had a particular eye for younger girls, accosting them and making lewd remarks.
To one of the undercover investigators, Ali confessed the crime on October 30, 2018: around 2 p.m., he was waiting outside his apartment and asked Georgine, as she walked by, if she could help him carry things to the basement. There was to be a small reward for doing so. When they were both in the basement, he hit Georgine on the head with a spirit level. When Georgine was unconscious, he sexually abused her and then strangled her with his bare hands. He then wrapped Georgine in garbage bags and a rug, which he threw in the household trash.
On March 17, 2020, Ali was found guilty of killing Georgine and was sentenced to life in prison.
