Gebar Byrd, Jr. was an infant who went missing in 2010. His father has been convicted of involuntary manslaughter in his case.
Case[]
Gebar went missing along with his mother, Yasmin Rodriguez, on March 22, 2010. Yasmin's body was found in the Mississippi River in St. Louis the following month; there were cuts and bruises on her body and she had drowned.
In May 2010, Gebar Byrd, Sr., Yasmin's boyfriend and Gebar Jr.'s father, was charged with both of their murders. Authorities believe that he pushed Yasmin, who could not swim, into the river while she was holding her son. He was ultimately convicted of second-degree murder in Yasmin's case and involuntary manslaughter for the presumed death of Gebar Jr., although his body has never been found.
