Elisabeth Ann "Ellie" Huster was a girl who disappeared in 1996. Her mother was convicted of her murder.

Case[]

Ellie lived with her mother, Karen Huster, after her parents divorced. In December 1996, Ellie's father reported her missing after being unable to contact her for some time. The investigation revealed that Ellie had not been enrolled in school for the 1996 academic year. Karen refused to disclose Ellie's whereabouts, leading to custodial interference charges in 1997. Despite this, she continued to withhold information about her daughter's location. In 2000, Karen was charged with Ellie's murder.

When police arrived to arrest Karen, they discovered the dismembered body of her male roommate in her freezer. Karen claimed he had died of natural causes, a claim supported by the autopsy. During her trial, Karen admitted to killing Ellie during a psychotic episode, stating that she disposed of her daughter's body in the ocean. Although Ellie's body was never recovered, Karen was sentenced to life in prison for her murder.
