Donald Lee "Don" Baker was a preteen that disappeared in 1956 alongside his friend, Brenda Howell.

Case[]

Don and Brenda were last seen riding their bicycles in the San Gabriel Canyon area near Glendora Mountain Road on August 6, 1956. Don's jacket and Brenda's bike were both found a few days later near Morris Dam, and Don's bike was discovered a month after they were last seen.

Don and Brenda were initially believed to have run away, however, in 1970, serial killer Mack Ray Edwards confessed to their murders. Edwards told authorities where he had allegedly buried their bodies, but nothing was found, and he was never charged in their cases.

Edwards was convicted of murdering three children and additionally confessed to the murder of Roger Madison, for which he was never charged. He is also a suspect in the cases of Bruce Kremen, Karen Tompkins, Tommy Bowman, Ramona Price, and Dorthy Gale Brown. Authorities believe that Edwards buried some of his victims' bodies near highways he helped construct. He died by suicide while on death row in 1971.
