Diane Faye Chorba was a woman who disappeared from Luther, Michigan, after meeting with a man named Clarence Bean Jr., with whom she was having an affair. When interviewed, Bean stated that Chorba was planning to travel to California and had booked a ticket on American Airlines Flight 191. However, that flight crashed outside of Chicago the following day, resulting in the deaths of all 271 passengers on board. It was later confirmed that Chorba was not on the plane.
In 2001, Bean was convicted of her murder.
