Debra Lee "Debbie" Frost was a teenager who was last seen in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 9, 1984. Foul play is suspected in her case. Her latest age progression depicts her at 54.
Background[]
Debbie had a boyfriend at the time of her disappearance. She was happy with him and was planning him a birthday party when she went missing. Debbie was supposed to visit relatives in California the day after she vanished to get away from unspecified problems she had. She was also known to use drugs on occasion but it's unknown how often.
Case[]
Debbie was last seen at the place her boyfriend worked. She told him she was either going to walk or hitchhike home. It is unknown which one she eventually picked. She was known to hitchhike, and had ran away from home prior to her disappearance, but always went to a friends house. No friends have seen her since her disappearance.
In 2011, it was uncovered that Debbie had contact with police on July 21, 1984 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Unfortunately, since police records were purged, the details of this contact are unknown.
A man named Fred Martinez, whom Debbie had known for about a year, was her only known tie to Rock Springs. He was 30 at the time and was known to be romantically interested in Debbie, but she didn't share these feelings. A friend later alleged that the two got into a fight in Rock Springs and that Debbie left, with Martinez following approximately ten minutes later.
According to a mutual friend of him and Debbie, Martinez once said that he murdered Debbie, but later claimed that he was joking. Martinez died by suicide in 1995. He is considered a person of interest in Debbie’s case.
