Danielle Sarah Jones was a teenage girl who went missing in 2001. Her uncle has been convicted of her abduction and murder, but her body has never been found.
Case[]
Danielle was last seen in the early morning of June 18, talking to a man in a blue van while on her way to school, before getting into the van with him. Investigators realised this was her uncle, Stuart Campbell's truck. Campbell had a long history of offences, in the 70s he'd been arrested for sexually assaulting a young girl, and in 1989, he'd kidnapped and raped a teenage girl for several days.
When police searched his house, they found some of Danielle's clothing stained in blood as well as a journal that documented his sexual obsession with Danielle. Stuart denied everything and told them Danielle ran away. He showed them a text allegedly from Danielle that talked about running away- however this is exactly what caught him. Investigators realised that it was not how Danielle typed and worked out that Stuart most likely sent himself the text from her phone. With the evidence they had, they charged him with her murder.
He was convicted of her murder in December 2002, but has never confessed or revealed where her remains are.
