Cynthia Dawn Constantine was a teenager who vanished in 1969. Her family believes that she may have been abducted.
Case[]
Cynthia was last seen on July 11, 1969 in Oakdale, New York. She was taking her dog for a walk along the train tracks of the Long Island Railroad. Her dog returned home a few minutes later with its collar and leash, but Cynthia did not.
Earlier that day, Cynthia and her brother had found a muskrat den in the woods and she had mentioned that she wanted to return. Three young boys also said they'd seen Cynthia and her dog walking into the woods and authorities found tracks consistent with Cynthia and her dog around the muskrat hole, however, the tracks were destroyed by rain before they could be closely examined or preserved.
Cynthia's father was considered a possible suspect at the time of her disappearance as he poured a new cement floor in the basement of his shop not long after she vanished. Several local people were also suggested as suspects although none have even been named publicly. It is also worth noting that an individual or individuals who were not local to the area could have been involved in her disappearance as she vanished from near a train station.
