Carol Arcuri (née Ahrens) was a woman who disappeared in Florida in 1980. Foul play is suspected in her disappearance.
Case[]
Carol was in the process of a divorce with Jack Arcuri. Carol had allegedly told loved ones that Jack had bound her hands, threatened her with a gun, and attempted to strangle her several days prior to her disappearance. Carol's daughter stated red marks were visible around her neck and wrists. Carol's symptoms of yellow eyes, epistaxis, headaches, and a cough was determined to be caused by iron deficiency during her visit to a doctor on November 17 (5 days prior to disappearance). These symptoms, however, are also consistent with attempted strangulation.
Jack maintained his innocence, refused to cooperate with investigators, and hired an attorney. Jack committed suicide in 1982. Nobody has been charged in Carol's disappearance, however, but it is believed to be a homicide.
