Birgit was last seen the evening before, 4 April 2020. Since then, she is considered missing after she disappeared from her care facility. She stayed there because she is mentally impaired and probably needs urgent medical attention.
Recent developments[]
In February 2022, a hiker found a human skull in a forest near Grünenbach, Germany. During the search in the area, the investigators found further skeletal parts. After a DNA comparison, they could be assigned to Birgit. According to the findings, there are no indications of foul play.
