Ashley Renae Freeman was a teenager who went missing with her friend, Lauria Bible, in 1999. Ashley's parents were found dead in their burned residence, yet neither of the girls was found. Ashley was declared legally dead in 2010. Her latest age progression depicts her at 36.
Recent developments[]
In December 2017, documents believed to be critical to solving the cases were rediscovered by authorities.
By April 2018, police announced a suspect was in custody and is awaiting trial. The other two suspects had died. Police believe the girls were kept alive for days, raped, and strangled.
In July 2020, a plea deal was reached in the case and the accused, Ronald Dean Busick, agreed with prosecutors to help with the recovery of Ashley and Lauria's remains. However, the cellar where he suggested was searched in vain and he was released from prison in 2023.
