Annette Deanne Sagers was a girl who went missing in 1988. Her mother, Kory Sagers Malinoski, disappeared a little less than one year before her. Her latest age progression depicts her at 47.
Case[]
Annette's mother went missing from the same location as Annette on November 21, 1987, after a fight with her husband, Thomas Steven "Steve" Malinoski, who was Annette's stepfather.
Annette was last seen with her dog at a bus stop near her family's 6000 acre plantation; she was on her way to school. When the bus arrived 20 minutes later, she was gone. Her disappearance was noticed by her stepfather when she failed to return home from school.
Annette left behind a handwritten note stating that her mother had returned and that she had to leave with her, asking her father to give her brothers and him plenty of affection. Handwriting analysts determined that Annette was the author of the note. However, it is unknown if she wrote it under duress or if she had any information about her mother's disappearance. Kory's family does not believe Kory would come back for Annette but not her two sons, or that she would leave without telling them. There is little evidence to support any theory; however, authorities believe that both Annette and her mother met with foul play and never left the plantation.
Sometime after Annette disappeared, Steve moved to Florida and gave up parental rights to the two sons he had with Kory. Annette's half-brothers, now adults, were not old enough at the time to remember details of her or their mother's disappearances. Steve maintains his innocence in their cases.
