International Missing Persons Wiki

Andrea R. Gonzalez was a young girl who went missing from Russellville, Alabama on November 20, 1993.

Case[]

Andrea is believed to have been murdered by her father and stepmother, Paul and Kim Gonzalez. In 1995, Kim admitted to accidentally killing Andrea by scalding her in the bathtub, and Paul confessed to helping Kim dispose of her body, which they allegedly dumped in Upper Bear Creek Lake. Despite Kim's confession, authorities believe Andrea was murdered intentionally after prolonged abuse, and Kim and Paul were both initially charged with capital murder.

Without her body, however, there was no proof that Andrea's death was not accidental. Paul ended up pleading guilty to manslaughter and testified against Kim, who went on trial for murder. She was found not guilty due to a lack of evidence, although she was found guilty of child abuse. Both Paul and Kim have since been released from prison.
