Allyson Kathleen Dalton was an infant abducted after her mother’s murder in 1998. Her photo is shown age-progressed to 20 years.
Case[]
Allyson was last seen with her mother, Sylena Jo Dalton, at their apartment around 7:50 a.m. on July 27, 1998. At approximately 2:25 p.m., her mother’s body was discovered. She had been stabbed to death. The estimated time of her murder was between 9:15 and 10:30 a.m. that morning.
Allyson was missing, along with several of her baby bottles. She is believed to have been abducted by the killer(s). The murder weapon was also gone. Neighbors did not report any screams or other disturbances that day, but one did claim to see a man putting a baby in a truck.
Daniel E. Pompell, Sylena’s on/off boyfriend, stated that he had stopped by the home around 9:00 a.m., but left after nobody answered the door. Witnesses confirmed seeing him outside the residence with a bundle under his arm. At the time of the murder and abduction, Sylena had been seeking child support from him, and he was supposed to take a paternity test. He has cooperated with the investigation.
In 2000, Sylena’s mother sued Pompell for $1.5 million for Sylena’s wrongful death. However, the suit was dismissed due to lack of evidence.
Police attempted to use DNA technology to help solve the case in 2021. The results of this are unknown.
