Alice Fay Jefferson was a young woman who went missing sometime in 1974 or 1975. She was not officially reported missing until 2013. Her photo is shown age progressed to 67 years.

Case[]

Alice lived in Fort Campbell, Kentucky with her husband, Lee Andrew Jefferson, and her two children, Paula and Johnny. Lee was a soldier and was stationed in Fort Campbell between March 1973 and July 1975. In either 1974 or 1975, Alice disappeared; all of her belongings were left behind.

Alice’s children, aged five and six in 1974, recall that on the day of her disappearance no one picked them up from school. They walked home, but had to knock on the door for a long time before someone answered. Lee, their stepfather, eventually opened the door, claiming to have been asleep. He was allegedly sweating heavily and appeared agitated. He refused to let the children go to their room and made them sleep with him.

A few days later, Lee took the children to Alice’s parents home in Little Rock, Arkansas. He left and never returned. According to him, he believed Alice had simply left him and gone to Nashville, Tennessee, where she had friends.

When her parents attempted to report her missing, police in both Kentucky and Tennessee refused to take the case. An official police report was only filed in 2013. Paula and Johnny believe Lee murdered their mother; Alice was allegedly afraid of him. Lee maintains his innocence and has never faced charges in relation to her disappearance.

Alice has familial ties to Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. Foul play is possible in her case.
