Alfred Beilhartz was a boy who vanished in the Rocky Mountain National Park in 1938. He has never been found but his case was closed due to the passage of time.

Case[]

Alfred was last seen in the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado on July 2, 1938.  He had gone on a fishing trip with him family for the independence day weekend. They were walking along a trail near Fall River when Alfred fell behind the others and vanished. His family searched for Alfred before contacting the park rangers for help. There was an extensive ten day search with 150 volunteers taking part but no trace of Alfred was ever found.

That day it is worth noting that a couple who were hiking six miles away and at a much higher elevation than were Alfred was last seen reported hearing a cry. They saw a small boy resembling Alfred on a high ridge in an area called the Devil’s Nest near the top of Mount Chaplin. However, when authorities arrived the next day the child was gone.

Authorities originally believed that Alfred had fallen into the river and drowned. They dammed and dragged the river for six miles but did not find anything. Bloodhounds tracked Alfred’s scent for 500 feet but lost it at a fork in the path.

Alfred was never found but due to the passage of time his case is now closed.
