International Missing Persons Wiki

Alexander Mitchell Riffenburg was an infant who disappeared along with his mother, Jennifer Walsh, from Palmdale, California.

Thomas Riffenburg was later convicted of their murders and led police to the remains of Jennifer. He gave a location for Alexander's grave, but his body wasn't found.

Case[]

Alexander was the son of Jennifer Walsh and Thomas Riffernburg. Jennifer was last seen when she attended an appointment at the unemployment office. She told Thomas to drive off with Alexander because she believed she might be arrested for drug possession. Thomas dropped Alexander off with Jennifer's mother, Fern. A few days later, Fern reported Jennifer missing after being unable to reach her.

Sometime later, Fern came home to find that her house had been robbed, and Alexander was nowhere to be found. A year later, Thomas was arrested and informed the police that Jennifer and Alexander were safe but had chosen to sever ties with the family despite previously claiming that they had perished in an accident. In 2013, while serving time for a separate offense, Thomas killed his cellmate in prison.

In 2015, Thomas wrote to the authorities and confessed to the murder of the two. He claimed to have buried Jennifer in her sister's backyard and Alexander in Fern's, but Alexander's body was not found there.
