A man named Rogelio Sanchez is alleged to have killed Adrian with the help of another man, who has not been named. The pair dragged him out of his house on June 30 and beat him up. The conflict was allegedly about a relative of theirs who overdosed in Adrian's house. On July 4, Rogelio and his friend dragged Adrian out of his house again, kidnapping a woman named Christiana Delacruz and an unnamed third person. Delacruz's body was found the next day, shot to death. The third person abducted escaped and told police that Rogelio and his friend were terrorising the three of them because they believed them responsible for the relative's overdose. The survivor thought that Adrian had likely been murdered that day along with Delacruz.
